Stanley H. Tweedle

I guess I was selling Stanley short.
I thought he hadn't been affected by Londo's death.
He has wanted, demanded more attention.
Tonight he did a very non-Stanley thing after dinner.
I got in the habit of feeding the cats on the lanai because Stan has a habit of eating too fast and then throwing up.
I'd close the door to the lanai and leave them out there for at least half an hour to insure that any mess is out there and not in here.
Anyway, after dinner he sat on top of the table on the lanai and meowed until I opened the door.
I went back to my computer and he still sat there on the table on the lanai and meowed until I came out and petted him.
This was something Londo used to do ever since I got that table.
Londo would sit there with his chest thrust out and meow until I came out and pet him.
Stanley used to just run inside as soon as the door was opened.
Looking back over the past week, Stanley had started to sit next to Londo during that nightly ritual. Now he is performing the ritual Londo used to.
Also, whenever I'd let the cats out front, Londo would never try to leave our floor. Stan would invariably make a run for it in under ten minutes. Over the past week Stan would stay very close to the apartment even when I went inside to stir dinner.
I think Londo was teaching Stan some things before he left.
Stan has also been calling, meowing without looking at me.
I guess he misses Londo too, in his way.
